Pregnancy Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care during pregnancy is a gentle, low-force approach to supporting spinal and pelvic alignment as your body changes. Many patients report less back pain, improved comfort, and an easier pregnancy experience when receiving chiropractic care throughout pregnancy, specifically using the Webster Technique.
At Mindful Motion Chiropractic, care is always focused on the comfort, alignment, and nervous system health of the mother.
Pregnancy Care & the Webster Technique
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that focuses on balancing the pelvis and reducing tension in the surrounding muscles and ligaments.
There is some evidence to suggest that improving pelvic alignment during pregnancy may help reduce tension on the utero-pelvic ligaments and decrease structural restrictions within the pelvis. This may allow the body to function more efficiently during pregnancy and birth.
Importantly, chiropractic care does not involve assessing, manipulating, or attempting to change fetal position. Our focus remains solely on supporting the mother’s spine, pelvis, and overall comfort.
The Webster Technique Explained
Common Pregnancy-Related Conditions We See
Pregnancy places new demands on the spine, pelvis, and surrounding muscles. A few of the most common secondary concerns we help support include:
Sciatic-type shooting leg pain
Lower back pain or fatigue
Muscle spasms
Round ligament pain
Pubic symphysis discomfort
Tension headaches
Each care plan is personalized and adjusted as your body changes throughout pregnancy.
Comfort-Focused, Low-Force Care
Some people associate chiropractic care with forceful techniques. At Mindful Motion Chiropractic, Dr. Powell uses only gentle, low-force, instrument-based adjustments, making care safe and comfortable throughout all stages of pregnancy.
We also utilize specialized durable memory-foam pregnancy pillows, allowing patients to lie face-down comfortably and safely on our tables — even late into pregnancy. Many women comment that it’s the most comfortable they’ve felt lying down in months.
Supporting You Through Every Trimester
Whether you’re newly pregnant or nearing your due date, chiropractic care can help support mobility, comfort, and overall well-being throughout pregnancy.
